Two pricing modes

Prices that follow. Or prices that hold.

Every bundle uses one of two rules. Press the button below and watch what each one does when you change an item's price in your store.

Component prices

The bundle total is the sum of live variant prices. Your catalog moves; the bundle moves with it.

Canyon Tee$35.00
Trail Hoodie$60.00
Camp Socks × 2$0.00
Cart charges$95.00
follows your catalog

Fixed bundle price

You set one number. Cent-precise allocation keeps the cart at exactly that number, whatever the catalog does.

Canyon Tee$29.10
Trail Hoodie$49.90
Camp Socks × 2$0.00
Cart charges$79.00
locked · exact to the cent
No re-saving, no syncing — the left receipt just follows.

What it does

Sells like a bundle. Behaves like Shopify.

01

Native cart expansion

Shoppers add one product; Shopify's Cart Transform expands it into real component items in the cart. No scripts, no checkout hacks, no duplicate SKUs.

02

Shopper-configurable slots

Allow a curated subset of variants per item. Shoppers pick size, color, scent on the product page — sold-out combinations constrain live, and add-to-cart stays locked until the bundle is complete.

03

Totals exact to the cent

A fixed price is distributed across components with no rounding drift — money math written and unit-tested by people who find off-by-a-penny personally offensive. The cart charges exactly the number you set.

04

Styled from the theme editor

The configurator is a theme app block: buttons, dropdowns, or color swatches; your colors, radius, and labels; optional savings line — all without touching code.

05

Honest inventory & orders

Expansion produces real line items, so each component's inventory decrements correctly and orders show what was actually sold. Two bundles charge exactly 2×.

06

Compare-at, kept honest

Compare-at prices are display-only in both modes. They never leak into bundle math and never create accidental discounts.

Fail-safe by design

“A missing expansion is a visible failure. A wrong charge is a silent one.”

That line is from BundleForge's source code, and it's the rule the whole app is built around. If a bundle's configuration is ever invalid, it simply doesn't expand — the shopper sees an un-expanded line, and nobody is charged a price you didn't set. BundleForge never silently falls back from a fixed price to component prices.

Setup

Three steps. Zero code.

Step 01

Create a bundle

Pick the parent product shoppers will add to cart, then its component items — with Shopify's native product picker, not IDs or CSVs.

Step 02

Choose how it prices

Component prices that follow your catalog, or one fixed price. A “distribute total” helper splits a target across slots for you.

Step 03

Drop in the block

For shopper-configurable bundles, add the BundleForge block to the product template in your theme editor and style it to your brand.

FAQ

Fair questions.

Do I need to edit my theme?

No. Expansion happens in the cart via Shopify's native Cart Transform — any theme, untouched. The optional storefront configurator is a theme app block you add and remove from the theme editor in one click.

What happens if a bundle is misconfigured?

It fails safe: the bundle doesn't expand, and the shopper sees an un-expanded line instead of being charged a wrong amount. BundleForge never silently substitutes one pricing mode for another.

Can shoppers choose variants inside a bundle?

Yes — that's the demo at the top of this page. Allow all variants or a subset per component; shoppers pick options on the product page with sold-out combinations handled live.

What happens when I change a component's price?

Component mode follows automatically — no re-saving. Fixed mode holds at exactly the price you set. That's the whole point of having two modes.

Do compare-at prices affect bundle pricing?

No. Compare-at prices are display-only in both modes and never create discounts.

How is inventory handled?

The bundle expands into real component items, so Shopify tracks and decrements each component's own stock — no phantom inventory.
